Here's a little about myself, Arran Mackintosh, Cptn Dave, Mackaroni and any other pseudonyms I may be scribbling away under.

I am a professional Illustrator born in Portsmouth on the south coast of England and graduate of the University of Portsmouth. I've always enjoyed drawing for as long as it's been a worthwhile distraction from whatever I'm supposed to be doing, which has been roughly 19 of my 22 years so far.

I love to experiment with all types of materials and media to make strong and intriguing images and hope that the variety on this site will appeal to all who visit, but I'm best known for creating detailed ink drawings. 

I was privileged to be named winner of the award for "Best Designer" and the "Solent Special Award" at the Fareham College Faculty for Creative Studies Awards Evening in 2006. In 2009 I won the award for best film in the 'Hula Hoops Golden Hoop Film Awards' for my short film 'Doctor Hoop'. I was highly commended in the 'macmillan prize for children's books 2010' for my entry 'The Scroll of Britiain' which was exhibited as part of the awards show.

Finally I feel I must also explain that Captain, Cptn and Capt Dave is nothing more than the result of a schoolboy conversation skirting the subject of superheroes - which I have adopted as my moniker based on the principles of David being a common name, the superhero in question being nothing short of useless and me needing a new email address at the time.
